For many years, Equip Mining operated primarily in the global used mining equipment market, supplying large mining fleets across regions including as Mongolia and Northern China. Supporting these operations required more than simply delivering equipment; it meant helping operators maintain and sustain fleets of haul trucks, excavators, and support equipment operating in demanding environments.
During that time, we noticed something interesting.
While mining companies in Australia, North America, and South America were increasingly facing long procurement delays and parts shortages, many operations in Mongolia and Northern China were maintaining large fleets with far fewer disruptions. Parts were being sourced more efficiently, machines were staying productive, and maintenance cycles were running smoothly.
This observation prompted us to look deeper.
Through our work supporting these fleets, we were introduced to several established engineering manufacturers producing heavy-duty components used to maintain mining equipment. Many of these companies had been quietly manufacturing critical components for decades, often operating within the same industrial supply chains that support global OEM manufacturers.
What we discovered was that high-quality parts were already being produced by highly capable manufacturers, companies with extensive machining capabilities, advanced metallurgical processes, and well-developed quality control systems.
The challenge was not the manufacturing capability.
The challenge was access.
Mining companies outside these supply networks were often restricted to traditional OEM procurement channels, which could involve significant costs, long lead times, and limited flexibility when machines were down and production was at risk.
Over time, Equip Mining developed direct relationships with a select number of these manufacturers. After seeing the performance of their components operating in demanding mining environments, we began exploring how these supply channels could support operators in other regions of the world.
This ultimately led to the creation of EM Components & Parts, Equip Mining’s aftermarket parts business, following successful ad hoc supply to existing customers in Canada and South America,
Our objective is simple:
To provide mining operators with a reliable alternative supply channel for high-quality heavy equipment components, helping reduce procurement delays, manage maintenance costs, and keep machines operating when it matters most.
The network we are launching has developed over many years through direct operational experience, engineering evaluation, and long-term supplier relationships.
It represents not just a new business line for Equip Mining, but a natural extension of our work supporting mining fleets globally.
